The DE Series hybrid storage subsystem requires only 2U of rack space, combining high capacity with performance: high IOPS throughput with up to 44GBps read bandwidth and 12.5GBps write bandwidth. The ThinkSystemDE series is designed to achieve up to 99.9999 percent availability through full redundant/0 paths, advanced data protection features, and extensive diagnostic capabilities.

It's also secure, with reliable data integrity to protect your critical business data and your customers' sensitive personal information.

 

Simplicity

With the modular design of the DE Series and the included easy-to-use management tools, expansion is easy. You can start using your data in 10 minutes.

ThinkSystem DE series contains several system families defined by their controllers. With extensive configuration flexibility, custom performance tuning, and complete control over data placement, administrators can maximize performance and ease of use.

For storage I/O that requires administrators to further optimize performance, the multiple viewpoints of graphical performance tools provide critical information. These systems are oriented towards backup and recovery, artificial intelligence workloads, big data/analysis, and virtualization, and perform equally well in regular computing environments.

The DE series integrates comprehensive functionality and ease of use. The ThinkSystem SystemManager will guide you through the configuration that is appropriate for your workload, or you can create your own configuration. Dynamic Drive Pooling (DDP) technology dramatically simplifies RAID management with minimal decisions.

 

Advanced Data Protection

With DDP technology, there are no free spares to manage, and there is no need to reconfigure RAID when you expand your system. It distributes data parity information and spare capacity across the drive pool, simplifying the management of traditional RAID groups.

It also supports accelerated rebuilding after a drive failure, thereby enhancing data protection. DDP dynamic rebuild technology uses each drive in the pool to accelerate the rebuild, reducing the possibility of failure again.

A key feature of DDP technology is the ability to dynamically rebalance data across all drives in the pool as drives are added or removed. A traditional RAID volume group has only a fixed number of drives. DDP, on the other hand, allows you to add or remove multiple drives at once.

ThinkSystem DE Series hybrid models provide advanced enterprise-class data protection locally and over distances including:

Security data, security management

All drives will be redeployed, jettisoned or maintained. When this happens, you don't want your sensitive data to be exposed. Combining local key management with drive-level encryption, you'll provide complete security for data at rest with no performance impact.

The DE Series gives you the choice of how to manage your drive authentication keys: you can do it yourself at peak cost, or you can use an external KMIP-compliant key manager for easy, centralized management.
